The Conference Board Job Satisfaction Survey in the U.S. reveals that only 47.7% of workers are satisfied with their jobs. This percentage is below the historical average of 61.1%.
So what leads to job dissatisfaction? Here are some possibilities:
- Corporate Structure
- Generation Gap
- The economy
- Afraid of not finding a new job
- More responsibilities for less pay
- Asked to do more with less
There are several things employers can do to identify and address a lack of employee satisfaction. Two of the most important steps you can take are employee engagement surveys and employee focus groups.
Employee Feedback
Many buzz words are used for this tool – Opinion surveys, Engagement surveys, or Satisfaction surveys. The point being: “Engage your employees in your business” by asking them their opinions. Drive your business to success by creating an engaged workforce.
Employee engagement survey tools give you the intelligence you need to discover areas needing improvement; act upon these areas and ultimately instill employee loyalty. What does this mean for you? It means happy employees, repeat business, and a successful enterprise.
ECG works with you to establish key survey questions which can include workplace practices, benefits & compensation, and policy questions. We customize these questions to suit your particular needs or issues. Find out if your managers instill a harmonious workplace, if they recognize their staff, and more importantly, if they communicate with their staff your company’s mission and goals.
Year over year, you will be able to measure your progress and view survey results in percentages of favorability.
Employee Focus Groups
Conducting an Employee Engagement survey shouldn’t stop there. Once you have the intelligence you need, involve your employees in finding solutions to their real or perceived problems.
We guide your employees through the survey results, to identify those points that are less favorable. We help them brainstorm and find the “root” of the real or perceived problem. Once identified, your employees find and propose recommended solutions. They are involved and engaged in the process which will lead to success.
ECG Consultants provide expert advice to help you increase your employees’ morale, increase work performance and reduce that hidden cost: “turnover.”
We help strengthen your employee base by engaging your employees, soliciting their feedback, and taking action accordingly.
