Attention all Hospitality HR Professionals
Your J-1 Interns have an option to stay for up to 2 years!
Vatel International is thrilled to share some exciting news regarding a new process in the regulations related to your J-1 interns.
Starting this month (June, 2023), J-1 interns can now extend their stay in the US and continue to train at your property by changing their status from J-1 to F-1 (student visa) using what the immigration department calls a “Premium Processing”. This means that J-1 visa holders can expect a response for their change of status within just 30 days, and the best part is that they can receive the decision to proceed with their visa change without the need of leaving the country.
Obtaining an F-1 status would allow the students to remain in the USA for up to 2 years, study toward an MBA degree and continue to work for your property under a curriculum practical training (CPT).\
Educonnect USA, in collaboration with Alliant University, is now able to offer an exclusive Executive-Style MBA program designed to facilitate a smooth transition for J-1 interns from a training visa to an F-1 student visa. This exceptional program not only provides access to professional training beyond the confines of the campus, but also offers interns the chance to extend their stay in the USA, further developing their skills within your hotel, and simultaneously, pursue a master’s degree.
Endorsed by the Department of Education and offering four (4) concentrations, hospitality management being one of them, this accredited degree program provides a flexible hybrid format with online classes and minimal periodic on-campus sessions lasting one week every four months.
For employers seeking ways to retain their J-1 interns for an additional two years and for J-1 visa holders willing to obtain an MBA degree, this is a game-changing solution.
