Minimum Wage Increase ~ Mark Your Calendars!

Make sure you are prepared to increase your hourly employees to at least the New Minimum Wage, coming up soon.
On July 1, 2022, many California cities are increasing their minimum wage rates – specifically, Fremont, Los Angeles City, Los Angeles County, Malibu, Pasadena and Santa Monica; “regardless” of the employer size”, which is a big change. Only the city of West Hollywood will have different wage rates, based on an employers’ size.
Minimum Wage – Effective July 1, 2022
- Alameda: $15.75/hr;
- Berkeley: $16.99/hr;
- Emeryville: $17.68/hr;
- Fremont: $16.00/hr;
- Los Angeles City: $16.04/hr;
- Los Angeles County $15.96/hr; (non-incorporated cities)
- Malibu: $15.96/hr;
- Milpitas: $16.40/hr;
- Pasadena: $16.11/hr;
- San Francisco: $16.99/hr;
- Santa Monica: $15.96/hr;
- West Hollywood: $16.00/hr<50 ee’s $16.50/hr 50 or >ee’s
For Exempt Employees, remember… In order to qualify as an exempt employee (not eligible for overtime pay), that employee must earn “at minimum”, double the CALIFORNIA minimum wage.
Make sure you increase those exempt employees if their salary falls below the required amount to meet the exempt “Wage Test”.
