As you probably know, last year SB1383 expanded CFRA to cover employers with five or more employees and broaden the definition of family members. This new law, AB1033 fixes an oversight of SB1383, clarifying that in addition to leave to care for grandparents, siblings, grandchildren and children of any age, employees may also take this leave under CFRA to care for a parent-in-law with a serious medical condition.
